Local Automation
Version 1.0.1
PrimeForge Local Automation
Give every script and program on your computer PrimeForge's AI.
The problem it solves
The AI you already have is capable, but it lives in a chat window. Getting it to summarise your email, tidy up a report, translate a document or sort a few hundred rows of data means copying and pasting, over and over. Wiring AI into your own automation usually means signing up for an API key, paying per call, handling authentication and usage limits yourself — and handing your data to yet another cloud service.
Local Automation turns the AI engine inside PrimeForge Desktop into a service on your own computer. AppleScript, PowerShell, shell scripts, Python, or any program that can make an HTTP request hands it some text and gets an answer back. No separate cloud account, no API key to buy, and nothing listening beyond your own machine.
Why you will want it
One token per program — always know who is using the AI Every program you connect gets its own identity and its own token. The management page shows how many requests each one made, how many succeeded and how long they took. If one misbehaves, switch it off or revoke its token without touching anything else.
Usage you control, so a runaway script cannot run away Set, per program, how many requests may run at once and how many may be made in a day. A loop written by mistake is stopped at the limit instead of quietly spending your AI budget.
Two ways in, for new tools and existing ones
- A simple JSON endpoint that takes a few lines of code to call from your own scripts.
- An OpenAI-compatible endpoint: tools that already let you set a custom OpenAI address, such as Aider, switch to PrimeForge's AI with just a base URL and a token.
A command-line tool that makes AI a one-liner Command-line tools for macOS and Windows put AI one line away in AppleScript, PowerShell or the terminal, with clear exit codes that tell a script apart success, a timeout, a revoked token and a service that is not running.
Let the AI look things up in your own data Your programs can register their own local MCP tool servers — a customer lookup, an internal database search — and the AI can call them while answering that program's requests. Tools are open only to the program that registered them; other programs cannot see or use them, and you name exactly which tools may be called, rather than leaving that to the AI.
A record of every request Every request goes into an activity record: who asked, how it ended and how long it took, and by default what was asked and what was answered. Filter it by program, outcome or time, or export the whole record as CSV or JSONL.
Your data stays on your computer, on your terms The activity record is kept in a file on this machine. Keep its content for 30, 60, 90 or 180 days or indefinitely, clear all of it in one click, or turn content recording off altogether.
See at a glance whether the AI is ready The overview shows the AI engine's status live. "Check connection" answers in a second and costs nothing; "Run AI test" runs a small real job to confirm the engine can finish one.
Works with Marshal Pair it with Marshal, and the AI tasks Marshal hands out run on this computer through your own PrimeForge engine.
What people use it for
- Mail assistant — select an email, press a shortcut, and get a three-point summary and a draft reply.
- Automatic daily report — at the end of each day, a report written from that day's work.
- Document translation — drop a file into a folder and get the translated version seconds later.
- Batch processing — tag hundreds of customer comments from PowerShell, then pivot the results in Excel.
- Customer lookup — let the AI check your own customer records before suggesting a follow-up.
- Coding assistant — use PrimeForge's AI from tools like Aider.
Requirements
- Local Automation is an app for PrimeForge Desktop. It is installed from within PrimeForge Desktop, which starts and runs it, and PrimeForge Desktop must be running for your scripts to reach it.
- Runs on macOS and Windows.
- Comes with a full user guide and ready-to-run examples.
